INDIA'S LARGEST AUDIO-VISUAL, HOME APPLIANCE AND HI-FI EXHIBITION
The Hindu Retail Plus is hosting India's largest audio-visual, home appliance and hi-fi exhibition starting November 28
This is a good chance to get a good look at the world of gizmos - with a range of the hottest and latest on the electronic scene. India's largest audio-visual, home appliance and hi-fi exhibition, The Hindu Retail Plus AV & Electronics 2008, is taking place at the Chennai Trade Centre at Nandambakkam from November 28-December 1 2008. This is its second edition, and will feature the latest technologies and gadgets, including leading foreign brands that will be making their mark in the Indian market.
You can take your pick from about 60 stalls that will be spread over a sprawling air conditioned area of 3,000 sq. meters with the best brands on displaying their breathtaking ranges. Be it colour televisions, plasma/LCD panels, front and rear projection systems, stereo amplifiers, CD, DVD players/recorders, SACD/DVD-audio players, MP3 players, loudspeakers, Home-Theatre in a Box Systems, gaming software and hardware, home automation systems et al. The show is open from 10am to 8.30pm and entry will be at Rs.30 per person.
A COURSE IN ART – TO NURTURE THE ARTIST IN YOU Signet Art and Design School offers classes to nurture the artist in you. One can choose from a spectrum of subjects using a wide range of media — pencils, charcoals, pen and ink, water colours, pastels, tempera and acrylics. Opt for pencil sketching, object drawing, nature studies, perspective drawing, colour study, ink and wash, water colours, tempera, calligraphy or graphic design. The duration for each subject will be 48 hours, spread over two months.
There will be two batches, and the classes will be held at Signet, Elcanso, 9 Casa Major Road, Egmore. The introductory class will be held on December 4 at 5 p.m. The batches start from December 5 and December 9 respectively, and will be on from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. The course fee of Rs. 9,600 to be paid while registering. The Tamil Nadu Handicrafts Development Corporation Limited, popularly known as Poompuhar has inaugurated an exhibition ‘Best of Brass Lamps, Rosewood Panels and Sandalwood Carvings’ on Monday. The exhibition will be on till December 13. A special discount of 20 per cent is offered.
