SAARANG 2009

Saarang is an annual feature at IIT Madras and this year, it is touted to exceed expectations as IIT Madras is also
celebrating its 25th year. About 50 events are going to invigorate fun loving participants – with literary events, The Great
Hunt (popular treasure hunt), Art and Craft Events, Media events covering ad-making, reporting and short film making, a
series of lectures titled Madras Chennai Express.
What is going to add a lot of glitter to Saarang this year is the Theatre Festival. Three good plays will be staged on three
consecutive days. They are,
1) Chennai based Evam’s And Now for Something Completely Different on January 23, 6 pm,
2) Ashish Sen’s Keats was a Tuber from Bengaluru on January 24, at 6 pm
3) 30 Days in September by the well-known Prime Time Theatre Company on January 25, at 6 pm.
These plays are ticketed and the passes are available at Landmark outlets.
What is more, SONU NIGAM, a singer with global reputation is performing on January 23 at 7 pm in the Open Air Theatre.
Tickets are, Rs.300 for gallery and Rs.400 for bowl.
